To enhance the relationship between the public and private sectors in Galle district, NAAL, with the assistance of Galle- Velsen (the Netherlands) twin city programme, conducted two workshops in Galle. The first session was held to build awareness and also to bring the relevant parties together to identify possible ventures. During the second session participants discussed further on selected projects in details and developed a concept paper which identified a program to implement jointly with public and private sectors’ active participation.     

NAAL was playing the part of a mediator and also provided necessary consulting inputs in identifying the needs and arranged funds through the Glee – Velsen twin city programme up to the level of developing the concept paper. The concept paper was presented to the board of Velsen (the Netherlands) for their information and a request was made to connect the Galle District Chamber of Commerce and Industries (GDCCI) with a chamber in the Netherlands and if possible to obtain assistance in introducing investors.
